There is no single best among pest control companies in Dubai, so compare them on ten checks: Dubai Municipality approval, trade licence, technician ID cards, inspection before quoting, named products, follow-up visits, written warranty, service reports, clear pricing and real reviews. A company that passes all ten is a safe shortlist choice.
Searching for a good pest control company in Dubai brings up hundreds of names, directories and “top 10” lists that are often just company profiles with phone numbers. They do not tell you how to compare. This guide does. It explains how approval works, what separates a strong provider from a weak one, how to read a quotation, and gives you a scorecard you can fill in for any company, including ours.
In this guide: how the market works, groups A, B and C, the real top 10 checklist, a comparison scorecard, how to read quotes and reviews, home versus business needs, pest control in the UAE beyond Dubai, and FAQs.
1. How the pest control market in Dubai works
Pest control in Dubai is a regulated public-health activity. The Dubai Municipality Public Health Pest Control Section issues No Objection Certificates (NOC) to companies before they can obtain a trade licence, regulates and qualifies them, and checks the effectiveness of pesticides. You can read the details in our guide to Dubai Municipality approved pest control companies.
In practice the companies you will meet fall into four types:
👉 Swipe left and right to see the full table
| Type | Typical strength | Typical weakness |
|---|---|---|
| Large national or international operators | Big teams, many branches, standard procedures, suit large facilities and chains | Can be slower for one-off household jobs, and less flexible on scheduling |
| Local mid-size specialists | Same-day response, local knowledge, flexible plans for villas, apartments and small businesses | Quality depends heavily on the individual company, so checks matter |
| Small or single-technician operators | Low price, quick reply | Often no written report, no warranty, and sometimes no valid approval |
| Booking platforms and marketplaces | Easy to compare prices and book online | Your contract may be with a company you have not vetted. Check who actually does the work |
What groups A, B and C mean
Dubai Municipality classifies licensed pest control companies into three groups based on how many qualified staff they have. Group A is the largest, then B (about 11 to 25 staff) and C (1 to 10). The group reflects manpower, not quality. A Group C company with careful technicians can serve your flat better than a Group A company that sends a different person every visit. It also tells you what size of job a company can take on.

Check the scope too. The Municipality list covers general pest control. Fumigation, termite control and bird control need separate approval, so if you need one of these, ask to see it.
2. The real top 10: what the best pest control companies in Dubai have in common
Many pages promise the “top 10 pest control companies in Dubai” and simply list names. A ranking you cannot verify is just advertising. A more useful top 10 is a list of ten things the best companies all do. Use it to rank the companies you are considering.
- Valid Dubai Municipality approval and trade licence, both in the same company name that appears on the quotation.
- Technicians with Municipality pest control ID cards, shown on arrival without being asked twice.
- An inspection before the quote. A real price depends on property size, pest type and severity.
- Pest identification. The technician names the pest and says why it is there (moisture, food source, entry points).
- Products named in advance: product name and active ingredient, plus safety information for children, pets and asthma.
- A treatment plan with follow-up visits, not a one-off spray.
- Written warranty terms: what is covered, for how long and what voids it.
- A signed service report after every visit with date, pests, areas treated, products, technician ID and follow-up date.
- Clear pricing: what is included, what VAT applies, and what happens if pests return.
- Consistent, recent, detailed reviews that mention the same strengths over time.

3. Comparison scorecard you can copy
Ask each company the same questions and score them. One point for a clear, documented answer; zero for a vague one. Anything under 8 out of 10 is a reason to keep looking.

| Check | What to ask | Company A | Company B | Company C |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Municipality approval | “Are you on the current Dubai Municipality list?” | |||
| Trade licence | “What is your licence number?” | |||
| Technician ID | “Will the technician show a DM ID card?” | |||
| Inspection | “Will you inspect before quoting?” | |||
| Products | “Name and active ingredient?” | |||
| Follow-up | “How many re-checks and when?” | |||
| Warranty | “Is it in writing? What does it cover?” | |||
| Service report | “Will I get a signed report?” | |||
| Pricing | “What is included, and is VAT added?” | |||
| Reviews | “Can I see recent, dated reviews?” |
4. How to read a pest control quotation
Two quotes with the same total can be very different services. Look for these:
- Scope: which rooms, which pests, which methods. “General pest control” alone is vague.
- Number of visits: one visit, or treatment plus follow-ups.
- Warranty: length, and what counts as a return of the problem.
- VAT: pest control services in the UAE are subject to 5% VAT, so check whether the price you were quoted includes it.
- Exclusions: extra charges for balconies, storage rooms, gardens or a second visit.
Comparison sites show wide starting prices. Some list a basic visit from under AED 100, while published examples for villa treatments are in the low hundreds of dirhams plus VAT. A low starting price usually covers one basic visit and tells you little about what you will actually pay. Treat any number as a starting point and ask for a written quote after inspection.

5. Reading reviews without being fooled
- Look for detail. “Great service” tells you little. “The technician found the nest behind the dishwasher and came back after two weeks” tells you a lot.
- Check dates. Reviews should be spread over time, not a burst in one week.
- Read the 3 and 4-star reviews. They show how the company handles problems.
- See how the company replies. A calm, specific reply to a complaint is a good sign.
- Match the reviews to the services you need. A company strong in restaurants may not be the best fit for a one-bedroom bed bug problem.
6. What homes and businesses each need
👉 Swipe left and right to see the full table
| Homes (apartments and villas) | Businesses (restaurants, offices, warehouses) | |
|---|---|---|
| Priority | Safety around children and pets, fast response, clear price | Documentation, scheduled visits, minimal disruption |
| Service type | One-off treatment or a quarterly plan | Annual maintenance contract with a visit log |
| Paperwork | Service report, warranty terms | Contract, visit records, licence copy, product list |
| Common pests | Cockroaches, ants, bed bugs, rodents | Rodents, flies, stored-product pests, cockroaches |
| Who checks | You and your landlord | Dubai Municipality inspectors and your auditors |
Businesses that hold a food licence are expected to keep a contract with a Municipality-approved pest control company, so for restaurants, cafes and food stores this is not optional. See our guide to commercial pest control in Dubai and Sharjah for what to ask for.
7. Pest control companies in the UAE: does one company cover every emirate?
Many companies advertise services across the UAE, but approval is handled emirate by emirate. Dubai Municipality regulates pest control in Dubai, and Sharjah Municipality does the same in Sharjah. Being approved in one emirate does not automatically mean being approved in another. If you manage properties in more than one emirate, ask each company which emirates it is licensed to work in, and ask for the licence details for each one. For Sharjah, see our guide to Sharjah Municipality approved pest control.

9. Red flags when comparing companies
- A price far below everyone else, given over the phone with no inspection.
- No company name, licence number or office address in the ad.
- Refusal to show a technician ID card or licence.
- Unlabelled bottles and vague answers about products.
- Pressure to pay everything in cash on the day.
- “Lifetime guarantee” on all pests or a promise that one visit fixes everything.
- No written report and no written warranty.

10. Frequently asked questions
Which is the best pest control company in Dubai?
There is no single best for every job, and be wary of any page that names one without showing how it was ranked. The best company for you holds valid approval, inspects before quoting, uses named products, follows up, gives a written warranty and a service report, and has consistent recent reviews for the type of job you need.
How many pest control companies are there in Dubai?
Roughly a hundred companies have been reported as licensed, but the official list is published in dated editions and changes. Check the latest edition on the Dubai Municipality website rather than relying on a number from a blog.
Where can I find a list of pest control companies in Dubai?
The Dubai Municipality Public Health Pest Control Section publishes a list of licensed companies on its website. Our guide on how to check a company is licensed shows where to find it and what it does not cover.
What are good pest control companies in Dubai doing differently?
They inspect first, identify the pest, explain the products, schedule follow-up visits, and hand you written proof of what was done. Weak companies spray quickly and leave.
How much does pest control cost in Dubai?
It depends on the pest, property size and how serious the problem is. Published starting prices on comparison sites range widely. Ask for a written quote after inspection and check whether VAT and follow-up visits are included.
Is pest control mandatory for businesses in Dubai?
Public-health premises, such as restaurants, grocery stores, food warehouses and shopping malls, are expected to hold a contract with a licensed pest control company. Confirm the exact current requirements with Dubai Municipality on 800900.
How often should I use a pest control company?
Most apartments and villas benefit from a preventive treatment about every three months. Restaurants and food businesses usually need monthly or more frequent scheduled visits under a contract.
Can I switch pest control company mid-contract?
Check the notice period and what the contract says about early termination before you sign. A good company will explain this in writing.
