Rat control cost in the UAE depends on the size of the infestation, the entry points and the type of property. A published UAE market guide puts rodent treatment for a home at about AED 400 to AED 800, with two treatments usually needed. Villas, warehouses and restaurants cost more, and a free inspection gives you an exact written quote.
The figures in this guide are market guidance so you can judge whether a quote is realistic. They are not Aura Pest Control’s price list: our price is confirmed in writing after an inspection, because a rat problem cannot be priced properly without seeing the property. Use this page to understand what drives the cost of rat removal, what each method adds, and what a fair quote should include.

1. What drives rat control cost
- Size of the infestation. A single rat that has just entered is a small job. Droppings every day, noises in the ceiling and rats seen in daylight mean a bigger population and more work.
- Entry points. The number and location of gaps matter. Gaps in roof spaces, false ceilings, cable trays and drains take longer to find and close.
- Property type and size. An apartment is quicker to inspect than a villa with a garden, a store room and a roof. Warehouses and restaurants have more area, more food and more risk.
- Species. Roof rats and Norway rats behave differently and need different placement. A rat and mouse problem together is also a different job.
- Method. Trapping, tamper-resistant bait stations and a mix of both are priced differently, as is sealing work.
- Number of visits. Most rat problems need follow-up checks. Check whether they are included.
- Access. Difficult roof access, locked areas and heavy clutter add time.
- Warranty and records. A written warranty and service reports are part of what you pay for.

2. Treatment methods and what each adds to the cost
The cost of rat control is not one product but a plan. Here is how each part affects the quote:
👉 Swipe left and right to see the full table
| Part of the plan | What it involves | How it affects the price |
|---|---|---|
| Inspection | Finding runways, droppings, rub marks, nests and entry points, and identifying the species | Often free before a quote at Aura Pest Control |
| Snap, electric or multi-catch traps | Placement on the runways, with regular checks | Priced by the number of traps and visits. Good for smaller problems |
| Tamper-resistant bait stations | Locked stations placed by a technician, checked and refilled | Priced by the number of stations and monitoring visits. Used for larger infestations |
| Proofing (sealing entry points) | Closing gaps with metal mesh, sealant or cement | Depends on the number of gaps and the materials. Ask whether it is included or quoted separately |
| Follow-up visits | Checking activity, replacing bait, removing traps | Included or charged per visit. Always ask |
| Sanitising and cleanup | Cleaning droppings and nesting material in affected areas | Sometimes an extra, depending on the area |

3. Home vs warehouse and restaurant pricing
👉 Swipe left and right to see the full table
| Apartment or villa | Warehouse | Restaurant or food outlet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical plan | Inspection, trapping or bait stations, proofing advice, 1 to 2 follow-ups | Perimeter and internal bait stations, monitoring, proofing and reports | Ongoing control under a contract, with records for inspections |
| How it is priced | Per treatment, sometimes with a package of follow-ups | By area, number of stations and visit schedule | By premises size and visit schedule |
| Main extra costs | Proofing work, roof access | Large area, loading doors, stock arrangement | After-hours visits, reports, urgent call-outs |
| Best option | One-off treatment, or a contract for villas with repeat problems | Annual maintenance contract | Annual maintenance contract |
If you are looking for rodent control in warehouses in Sharjah or Dubai, the price is set by a site survey and a visit schedule. See our commercial pest control in Dubai guide and our pest control contract services. For general pricing in Sharjah, read pest control charges in Sharjah.
Do mice cost less than rats? Mouse control is often priced lower, because mice need smaller traps and less area, but a mouse problem in a large property can cost as much. If you are not sure which you have, send us a photo and we will tell you.
4. Why one-time baiting often fails
A cheap one-time bait visit looks attractive, but it often fails for these reasons:
- The entry points stay open. If rats can still come in, more arrive after the bait is gone.
- Rats are cautious. They may not take bait on the first visit, so bait needs to be placed, monitored and adjusted.
- One visit cannot confirm success. Only follow-up checks show whether activity has stopped.
- Food and shelter remain. Rats stay where there is food, water and a place to nest.
- No monitoring. Bait left unchecked can be used up, become stale or be moved.
- Dead rats in hidden places. Poisoned rats can die in walls and ceilings and create a smell. A good company plans for this.
A realistic rat control plan has an inspection, a treatment, proofing and follow-up. At Aura Pest Control we re-check after 3 days and again after 2 weeks, and our treatments come with a 3-month warranty. That follow-up is part of the price, not a surprise extra.

5. How to get a quote
- Send a message on WhatsApp to +971 52 408 0230.
- Tell us the area and property type (apartment, villa, warehouse or restaurant) and the size.
- Describe what you see: droppings, noises, gnaw marks or sightings, and since when.
- Send photos of the droppings, gnaw marks or the area where you hear noises.
- Book a free inspection. The technician finds the entry points, identifies the species and gives you a written quote with the method, the number of visits, whether proofing is included and the warranty.
Questions to ask any company about a rat quote:
- Does the price include proofing, or only baiting and trapping?
- How many visits are included?
- Are the bait stations tamper-resistant?
- What happens if rats return during the warranty period?
- Will I get a service report?
See our rodent control service for how we work.
6.Frequently asked questions
How much does rat control cost in Dubai?
A published UAE market guide shows about AED 400 to AED 800 for a rodent treatment in a home, with two treatments usually needed. The exact cost depends on the infestation, the entry points, the property and the method. Aura Pest Control gives a written quote after a free inspection.
Is rat proofing included?
It depends on the company, so ask. Some include advice and small repairs, and others quote sealing work separately. Our technician shows you the entry points that need to be sealed, because without proofing, rats return. See our guide to rat proofing.
How many visits are needed?
Usually more than one. A first treatment places traps or stations, and follow-ups check activity and confirm that it has stopped. We re-check after 3 days and again after 2 weeks.
Is rat poison safe with pets?
Not without precautions. Poison should only be used in tamper-resistant, locked bait stations placed out of reach of pets and children, and pets can also be poisoned by eating a poisoned rat. If you suspect a pet has eaten bait or a dead rodent, contact a vet immediately. Never use fumigation tablets or unlabelled chemicals indoors.
Is a rat and mouse treatment priced differently?
It can be. Mice need smaller traps and different placement, and a combined rat and mouse problem is quoted after an inspection.
Do you offer rat control near me in Dubai and Sharjah?
Yes. Aura Pest Control provides rat and mouse control across Dubai and Sharjah, with same-day appointments and 24/7 emergency support, subject to availability.
Is a yearly contract cheaper for rat control?
For warehouses, restaurants and villas with repeat problems, a contract is usually better value, because regular checks stop small problems becoming big ones, and records are kept. Compare the visits, the pests covered and the warranty.
